Reuse AI-Logged Meals from History (Quick Re-Log in Recent meals)

When a meal is logged via AI (text description or photo), the result is currently a one-time entry. If I eat the same meal again the next day or next week, I have to re-submit it to the AI from scratch — consuming unnecessary API resources and wasting my time.
Proposed behavior: Once a meal has been successfully logged via AI, it should be saved as a reusable entry in the meal history, identical to how database foods work today. On any future day, the user should be able to tap the previous AI-generated entry and re-log it instantly with a single tap — no re-analysis needed.
This is already possible for foods found in the standard database; it should work the same way for AI-created entries. It would reduce redundant AI computation and make the experience significantly faster for users with consistent eating habits.

This would be the biggest possible update for long-term users: a diet plan generator that learns from years of logged eating history.
Proposed behavior:
•	Analyzes the user’s long-term food diary (patterns, preferred foods, meal timing)
•	Generates a 1-day or 7-day meal plan composed of foods the user actually enjoys
•	Ensures the plan meets the user’s calorie goal and targeted macronutrient split (protein, carbs, fat)
•	Produces a structured 3–4 meal/day schedule
For users who have been tracking for years, YAZIO already holds an incredibly rich personal dataset. The AI has all the inputs it needs — preferred foods, portion sizes, macros — to create genuinely useful, personalized plans rather than generic ones. This feature would transform YAZIO from a tracker into a true nutritional coach.

AI Should Leverage the Community Food Database

AI Should Leverage the Community Food Database
Currently, when logging a meal using AI (text or photo), the AI appears to operate independently from the user-contributed food database. It would be a huge improvement if the AI could cross-reference the locally contributed food items (filtered by country or region) as a primary knowledge source during input.
Use case: If I dine at a local restaurant called “Tölcsibe” and order a “Monster-Jalapeño-Cheddar tölcsér” with a side dish, I shouldn’t have to split the entry — searching half of it manually by name and reconstructing the other half via AI text prompt. If that meal (or something very close to it) has already been added to the community database by another Hungarian user, the AI should surface it as a suggestion automatically.
Proposed behavior: During AI-assisted logging, the model first queries the regional community food database for matches. Only if no confident match is found should it fall back to its general nutritional knowledge.

I would like to see an option to customize meal times when using intermittent fasting.

At the moment, breakfast is tied to a fixed time in the app. If my fasting window ends later than that, breakfast becomes unavailable. However, in real life I often have breakfast later than the default breakfast time set by the app. For example, on a «14:10» fasting schedule, my eating window opens at 10:00 AM, and that is when I want to have breakfast—not lunch.

Because of the current limitation, I have to remove either breakfast or dinner from my plan, even though I want to keep both meals. In addition, when breakfast is locked, calorie tracking becomes inaccurate because my first meal of the day is no longer counted as breakfast.

It would be much more convenient if, during intermittent fasting, users could set their own meal times and move breakfast to a later time that matches their eating window, without having to remove breakfast or dinner from their schedule.

I am a Premium user using the YAZIO and Garmin integration (including the Garmin Index Smart Scale). While active calories sync perfectly, there is a structural issue with the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) calculation.
The Problem: YAZIO uses a standard theoretical formula to calculate the daily calorie budget. However, Garmin calculates a more accurate BMR based on tracked skeletal muscle mass.
The Flaw: When Garmin syncs active calories to YAZIO, it creates a slight "double counting" or overestimation because YAZIO's baseline doesn't match Garmin's real-time metabolic data.
The Solution: Please allow YAZIO to pull and overwrite its static BMR calculation with the actual BMR data synced directly from partner apps/wearables (like Garmin).
If YAZIO can use the partner app's real BMR as the daily baseline, the calculation of total remaining calories and daily caloric deficit will be 100% accurate for everyone, without needing external manual adjustments.

It would be correct to add — when creating recipes — the loss (evaporation) of liquid during cooking. For example, add a field like 'final weight', and it would apply to the portions.

For instance, yesterday I added chicken drumsticks to a recipe: 1 raw drumstick = 380g, but after the oven it was 170g.

The same goes for pasta and grains that are in the recipe (in reverse — moisture absorption, plus evaporation). A challenge for your developers. But without accounting for liquid loss, a tool like recipes only works for salads and other dishes that don’t involve heat treatment.

Hey,

first of all thanksfor provding a fantastic app and helping me lose weight. Been on a 42 day streak and already lost like 6 kg *.*

Me and my friends got a request tho, that we feel like is essential for sticking with a healthy diet and generally using the app and having fun with it. Doing it together with your friends.

With the new update the option to see the daily calorieintake of my friends was removed. That was for my friends and me, aswell as many users i have read online, one of best parts of the app. Imo there is no other app that tracks calories as well as yazio and makes it so fun while combining it with a well designed friend/buddy option.

Being able to motivatie each other, see what your friends eat and how they are doing in terms of weight loss/gain was super fun and of the best parts of the app and we are really sad its gone. We even would have loved if you could see what the other person has eaten specifically, not only the macros, or share meals with each other. Maybe you could implement that you can toggle which infos you wanna share with other persons, for the persons that wanna keep more private. But minimazing that feature is really sad for us and my other users and really reduceses the motivation and fun to keep going with the app consistently.

We would love that you bring it back or even extend it. We really love the app and the change in life and habits it has brought to us and would appreciate if we could further experience that joy together.

Thank you and much love from Germany.

To get past it, I have to click a button that says "I commit" (which feels a bit pedantic and unnecessary) before finally reaching the "Diary" page.
Since I open the app multiple times throughout the day, having to dismiss this screen every single time creates friction and slows down the logging process.

They include zero guardrails, so if the math for a person to reach their goals is a medically dangerous level of calorie restriction (e.g., <1200), they do not care. They will suggest this is okay. People who are not smart enough to do research will try to meet the recommended levels to the detriment to their health. I submitted several comments about this already and got useless responses that just said that considering medical concern is not yet a feature. To search all that just so i have it in the app is tedious and that is where the app becomes work that i am not willing to do. A 1:1 Copy-Solution would be extremely helpful and very easy to implement.

Hi there, this is my use case :

- As a user
- When I already registered some food for my meal
- And when I realize after the meal I'm still little bit hungry
- Then I would like to preview / visualize how the food I am planning to add will impact my current (meal) and day total calories amount.

Why this is better than the current way :
Today, if i'm still hungry after the meal and I want something else, then I'm forced to add the desert (validate). But, if it does not fit with the remaining calories, then I have to delete the food, and look for a new one if I don't want to adjust the quantity.

By extension, the possibility to adjust the quantity in the dame view when adding would be great in addition.

Thann you.

Multi-Profile Support Under a Single Account

Feature Summary

Allow one account to manage two (or more) independent user profiles — each with their own goals, dietary data, and tracking history — switchable within the same app session without logging out.

Use Case

My husband and I both use Yazio. Currently, we either share one profile (which corrupts both our data) or maintain two separate paid subscriptions with no connection between them. Neither option reflects how households actually use nutrition apps together.

Requested Behavior

	•	One account (one billing entity) hosts two distinct profiles
	•	Each profile has independent: calorie goals, macros, weight tracking, food diary, and progress history
	•	A quick profile-switcher in the app (similar to Netflix or Google accounts)
	•	Optionally: a shared view or household summary for meal planning purposes

Why This Matters

	•	Reduces friction for couples and families — a real and common demographic for health apps
	•	Increases retention: two users anchored to one account are less likely to churn than two isolated users
	•	Competitive gap: MyFitnessPal and Cronometer do not offer this either — Yazio could differentiate here
	•	Premium upsell opportunity: offer this as a “Family” or “Duo” plan tier at a higher price point than individual Premium

Suggested Implementation Path

A lightweight version could simply allow profile switching with separate data stores under one login, without requiring real-time sync or shared features. That alone would solve the core problem.

Priority Signal

This is likely a high-frequency request among partnered users. A quick survey of your user community or support tickets would probably confirm it.

A Public API and/or MCP Server Integration

I am currently building an AI-assisted meal planning workflow using Claude (Anthropic) to automate weekly menu generation, shopping lists, and calorie tracking. The workflow is technically complete — except for one critical gap: Yazio has no public API, which means Claude cannot read my favourite dishes, retrieve my nutrition targets, or log meals directly into my diary.
Specifically, I am requesting:
1. Read access via API — ability to retrieve saved/favourite foods and meals, personal nutrition targets, and macro profiles per user
2. Write access via API — ability to log food diary entries (meals, portions, dates) programmatically on behalf of the authenticated user
3. MCP server support — publishing a Yazio MCP (Model Context Protocol) server would allow native integration with AI assistants like Claude, enabling a new class of intelligent nutrition workflows without requiring Yazio to build AI features in-house

The Use Case
Every Friday, I want an AI assistant to:
• Pull my favourite dishes from Yazio
• Generate a calorie-matched weekly menu for two people
• Output a shopping list optimised to minimise ingredient waste
• Automatically log the accepted meal plan into both of our Yazio diaries with correct portions
This is not a niche request. As AI assistants become mainstream productivity tools, the gap between apps with API access and those without will increasingly drive user decisions. Yazio’s competitors who open their data layer first will capture the technically sophisticated health-conscious user segment.
What Already Works
Yazio’s CSV export (Pro feature) is a partial workaround for historical data, but it does not solve real-time read/write integration needs or future planning based on the recipes data base.

Buongiorno,
vorrei suggerire alcune funzioni che renderebbero Yazio molto più personalizzabile per gli utenti che seguono alimentazioni diverse durante la giornata.

Suggerimenti

1. Possibilità di aggiungere più pasti o spuntini personalizzati
    Attualmente ci sono solo:

* Colazione
* Pranzo
* Spuntino
* Cena

Sarebbe utile poter:

* aggiungere altri pasti
* rinominarli liberamente

Esempi:

* Spuntino pomeridiano
* Pre workout
* Post workout
* Spuntino serale
* Prima di dormire
* Brunch

Distribuzione personalizzata delle calorie

Sarebbe molto utile poter modificare liberamente la distribuzione delle calorie giornaliere tra i pasti.

Esempio:

* più calorie a colazione
* meno calorie a pranzo
* cena più leggera
* aggiunta di calorie in uno spuntino serale

Attualmente la suddivisione è troppo standard e poco flessibile per chi segue esigenze alimentari specifiche o routine differenti.

Perché sarebbe utile

Questa funzione aiuterebbe:

* chi fa sport
* chi segue meal prep
* chi lavora su turni
* chi preferisce mangiare più volte al giorno
* chi segue nutrizionisti o piani alimentari personalizzati.

Grazie
