Edit/toggle streak feature
The new streak feature and its prominent placement red flame on my dark background is really giving me a hard time.
Make it an option through a toggle in the settings or let me edit the number to the appropriate value.
Please? I already have my overall progress right in front of me, with the calendar, now it’s screamed at me as well every time I open the app and it’s not even correct. Just to illustrate: when seeing a „1“ up there when it should say „100“ just feels like an insult although it’s supposed to be an encouragement… and for users who missed a day due to life, it’s a kick in the @!& and they knew it already anyway. Or is it just me?

VladShould be able to turn off this feature. Or at least the message each morning congratulating with the streak that requires from us each time to press a button to clear it. So annoying…I’ve been using the app for almost a year (the paid version) because it is simple and doesn’t require a lot of clicking. Keep it simple or I am going to look for something else. Thank you

MattIt's so annoying, and serves zero purpose. I hate it. Please let me disable that bullcrap. (I'm using the paid version)

RüdigerThis feature is very annoying and I don't need it. Please spend development resources elsewhere, there are so many suggestions in this forum.

ColeSo many good points here. If you want to have this feature then fine but give people who pay for the app the option to turn it off. It adds nothing and gets in the way. I'll log a meal or a snack and the streak counter flame thing pops up to tell me "I'm on fire," or whatever nonsense and I have to get rid of it to go back to logging more meals.

Please let us turn this thing off. -

The really annoyedThis is the worst addition to the app in some time. Why you would add something to the app to make it slightly more cumbersome to use (even if it is only once a day) is beyond me. Even worse, the occasional email spam encouraging you to keep your streak adds insult to injury. Get rid of it or make it an opt in feature.

MaartenThe red flame is an eye-sore in the UI.

But what’s more annoying is the daily pop-up about my streak and earning streak-freezes. But worse, way worse, are the pop-up trying to sell me on a streak-widget which keep coming up every, single, f*cking time I’ve missed a day (which the app seems to care about way more than I do).
I’m sure you’re all very proud of the new widget, but stop forcing it on me!
And also; keep in mind not everyone uses the app in the same way. I use it 90 of my days to keep track of my nutrients and water. But there are days when I don’t care, don’t have time or simply don’t want to, and for me that’s completely fine, but for some reason it’s been decided that missing a day is a huge deal.
All I’m saying is; allow users to toggle these features on- or off. That way people who want/need the motivation of streaks get their red flame, widget, reminder and what not. And people like me, who are still paying users of the app, get to use it the app the way they like. -

GuillermoI cannot but agree. I think it's quite demotivating. I understand that some people would benefit from it, and I'm happy for them, but in my case it's quite anxiety-inducing - literally cancelling my subscription of an app that I otherwise love. Having the possibility to toggle it off is a must in my opinion.

HenrikYes. Yazio was perfect 2-3 years ago and have progressively gotten worse for us who just want a clean calorie counting app. In-app pop-ups such about streaks and other newly launched features (again and again, the same) are borderline of what I can tolerate. Added upon the already annoying double affirmation of calories added about 6 months back, I’ve started to look for another app to switch to. As YAZIO have developed backwards and implemented suboptimal solutions, rather than adding features that actually improve the experience.

NikThis gamification is totally over the top. I'm trying to lose weight here and these extrinsic motivators are a major turn off.

MariusSince today the streak feature was extended in my app version. Instead of just the mildy annoying streak pup up, I receive also a full screen summary of the single food item I just entered (kalories, sugar, carbs, etc) and a second full screen pup up telling me that I just needed two seconds to track my last ingredient (a slice of bread).
10
These two pages come for EVERY SINGLE ingredient I enter and it is driving me insane. I consider stopping using this app altogether. I want my food tracking to get easier not even more cumbersome. -

MagdaStreaks and summary for the meals is so annoying. Please add possibility to turn it off. I feel like a skipping adds and I am a pro user, I paid you company for that app and I received popups which I cannot turn off. This app should allows user to EASY enter food or meals, and with streak and summary popups you make it so long and annoying that I don’t want to do it.

HiriPls get rid of unnecessary clicks! Using the payed! app version multiple times a day; don't need "motivation" forced upon me. And also no additional nutrition listing after that. All! notification MUST be optional, thx.

ElyPlease, let us turn off all the streak and daily popups. The lasts updates have been including a ton of these useless (for many) popups. I've been using this apps for years. I don't need any streak or motivation. I am seriously going to stop paying for the app or using it because this is making me click 5-6 times more to log something. There are many cool feature requests, why don't your product owners make developers's time useful?! I am seriously annoyed by this

LarsThe streaks and achievements are insanely annoying. Clicking 6 times AFTER logging the food is just bad UX and it’s seriously making me consider switching to MyFitnessPal. Plus, guilt-tripping people for not logging food for a couple of days is also a very dangerous path to go, considering that food is already a very emotional thing for a lot of people. At least give your customers the option to just use a food tracker instead of a wannabe Duolingo clone with food.

Christian K.Please hear the community on this one - as YAZIO is integrated deeply into each of our lives for years now, dismissing long animating popups is a major annoyance factor. Not getting rid of this annoyance of this is only cutting into your years-long community base.

else { logThatThisUserDoesntWantToSeePopupsAndBeSurprisedByTheAmountOfProUsersThatDisabledTheFeature(); }

DominiqueJe suis agacée de toutes ces fonctionnalités inutiles, polluantes, intrusives, infantilisantes...
À chaque modification, l'application devient de moins en moins agréable d'utilisation. -

Marcus AnderssonIf this was annoying, look at the new ”features”.
5
Now we have to deal with no less than 4 popups in a row in the morning with the streaks, and otherwise 3 popups every single time we log food of any kind.
2 of those 3 popups try to game-ify the process, like forced quests and showing how fast you logged an item. Simply stressing people out, same with all the popups really, who wants it shoved in their face that some parts of the meal wasn’t optimally healthy because it had too much salt, too many calories or was probably processed food.
They make very misguided attempts in trying to turn this into a game, which isn’t what people want in a game app, most just want to track calories and maybe fat-carbs-protein. It shows they don’t care enough about their user base to research what people want.
Introducing forced popups and intrusive features with no option to turn them off also just shows plain bad design.
I’ve now had enough, made them refund me and moved on to another app. -
17 Oct, '24
Marcus AnderssonSince they have no way to edit, I’ll add a new comment to rectify that I wrote game app instead of health app.
3
I have no clue what they’re trying to go for by making a calorie counting health app riddled with game popups that can’t be disabled, but I know for sure a lot of customers will leave and far more will avoid it once they experience the popups since it’s harder for paying customers to just up and leave, it’s bothersome to re-create recipes and get used to new apps after all, but very easy to avoid one that is clearly annoying to use.
If I was management, I would give the designers a tongue lashing and roll back the previous version and learn from this. From their responses and how they just roll out new ”features” no one asked for instead of fixing issues people have with the previous ones, it’s clear they don’t care about their customer satisfaction. Maybe they’re trying to see how fast they can run this app into the ground. -

MikeI like YAZIO as it populates my other apps with my food log, but the streak is so annoying, i am strongly considering not using the app anymore. I am not a child who requires a gold star. Stop wasting my time.

DanielleI have been a paid member for years. I am satisfied but also have a complaint.

Complaint 1:
I do not want to keep a series every day. Can I turn this off somewhere? I find this so annoying and unnecessary.
Complaint 2:
if I have not logged in for a few days, I have to reset all my goals. While I am simply a member. I find it annoying and would like this to be fixed. -

MarcusYes, get rid of the summary after every(!) ingredient. What the hell were the devs thinking..
Maybe some devs from competitors to make yazio worse.. It's unbelievable. -
