Suppression of nasty and invasive in-app notification
Daily notifications when entering a meal or starting the application ar intrusive for many user.
It would be good to have one check-box that permits to no more display it in the future.

Miranda Verburgmy husband and i have been doing yazio for 3 years now. we don't need to be motivated with these kinds of extra screens. It takes time (constantly having to click away) and adds nothing. Make it an option: do you want to see this or not. Especially for pro users!

NikolaijAbsolutely! This increasing gamification of a nutrition and calorie counting app is annoying and makes want to cancel my subscription immediately…

PaulaAbsolutely agreed, I hope they make it possible to disable all these

LotteNo need for this feature. Please rewind… simplicity and functionality is KEY for an app like this.

MariaI am seriously considering asking for a refund I'd developers do not add a turn off option of the idiotic clannge and summary screens every time you log a meal

SharonI find I have stopped adding my meals because of those stupid extra screens after adding anything. 1 coffee and it comes up. brutal!!

12 Oct, '24
Julia BIt seems mad to me that the wine I added is green but the oats are orange. Apparently home cooked chicken breast- to which I added no salt is very high in salt. I might value it more if the information wasn’t dud.

JerryFully agree. Add an option to toggle streaks, quests and the summaries. It has become such a drag to track fold due to these features, it is unbearable. I’ve cancelled my Pro for now and won’t be using the app anymore if nothing is done about this. It really isn’t rocket science to add simple toggles especially for paying customers!!

JenniferIve sent a message another way but wanted to write here as well. I'm a new user of about 3 weeks. With this last update, after logging, I have to click through 2 screens that are unnecessary. My advice comes with over 29 years of using weight watchers and also use of myfitnesspal as well as 2 other weight loss apps. The specialness of this app that far above the others is the ease of use and no nonsense approach. This last update set this app backwards by far. You should consider any additions as opt I s instead of forced to use it. You alienate people who are pretty self motivate but do not like much if any resistance just entering the basic information. Please don't make the mistake other developers make and ruin a beautiful app by catering to games etc to motivate people. Use your social media for that. Yazio is special and my heart is heavy thinking yet again developers want to fix what's not broken.

SaragIn my experience, I'm much less likely to use the app and actually log something I eat, when I know I'll be spammed instead of just being able to ad and leave. I'm generally a person who hates notifications and have almost everything turned off on my phone, so having window after window pop up makes me feel bad and not wanna use the app anymore

13 Oct, '24
MarjolynIt would be nice i you can turn all the notifications off in the pro app.

I just want to add my daily food, water and excercises, i dont need pop ups to remind me.
Its childish and take to much off my time. -
14 Oct, '24
PatThe worst update idea in history, to actually kill the functionality and aim of the app and all the reasons why people used to love it. I hate it and already start to look for a new app and cancel subscription. Today I had 6 screens popping up after logging a coffee! I don't have time for this. Already the useless streak screen was annoying but now this is unbearable! Are you actually increasing the number of pop ups every day? I don't want to log in anything now because of it, so the app became pointless for me.

JannetteMy only question is why?
2
But I have already asked this question 2x via the website, but no response, not really the service you would expect.
I switched from the food app to Yazio because I found it more professional, but it is now becoming more and more an app for children. -
14 Oct, '24
AnneliseFinally had found an app that was easy and fast to track calories (required with a 2 and 3 year old), and this extra new stuff showing in the app is not helpful.
3
I would like the option to turn it off, especially as a paying user!
It makes me not want to use the app even though I have otherwise been so happy with it.
If I want summaries on the individual things I have eaten, then I want to see it by actually going into the food item and choosing to look at it myself.
After having used yazio for a couple of months, I have a good general idea on what foods contain what. I could imagine the new pop up thing could be helpful if you are completely new to calorie counting but for everyone else it's just a pain in the rear end! -
14 Oct, '24
AnneliseAlso, the quests appears to much like a copycat of Duolingo, which I feel is unnecessary, but can understand the appeal in doing it because of how successful Duolingo is.

babisdrakThe extra steps when entering the food are annoying. Please, disable them or let us decide (and it's not proper disabling the comments on (kindly written) complaints-posts of your customers).

Lowell ThomsonPLEASE...for the love of tracking apps...allow us to remove these features. Incredibly annoying, especially when I sometimes take two or three different entries for a meal. I end up getting the same useless info each time.
5
I don't need to gamify anything. I just want to track my food.
KISS...Keep It Super Simple! -
15 Oct, '24
MartinI would recommend to find a really good UX designer. Calorie counting is s*cks, your mission should be to make it less effort. Less click, less difficult, but in the past 1 year It seems like Yazio does the opposite. A ton of useless annoying features, instead of focusing on usability.
5
My recommendation would be to track the user activities and check which are the most used part of the application, and make them more visible and easier to reach (less clicks). That would make a huge impact in my opinion. -
15 Oct, '24
MatthiasPlease make this "feature" optional. It's really obstrusive and slowing down tracking (the main feature of this app). How can you even release this feature without an option to disable it or do A/B testing before you release?

TImoI want my money back from PRO version as long as the APP is useless, because of these VERY ANNOYING notifications
3 -
21 Oct, '24
ClelThose new features are such a bother... it's almost worst than having adds. I have the pro version and now still need to tap 3 times to skip those 3 screens every time I enter a meal (and have to do it again if I enter another element in this meal later on... I don't know if they tested this change before making it live ?? I seriously doubt it as it is so not user-friendly while Yazio used to be super easy to use)

JanneI have been using yazio on and off for 2+ years now. These recent motivational screens are very irritating, so much so that I wrote your support about this couple of months ago, and per their suggestion, now inconvenienced myself to find your website and its suggestions section to add my voice to this request. Just this morning I logged in my breakfast and had to click through ***4 screens*** to get back to the app. Yesterday when I was logging few different items in one go, I had to click off multiples of similar screens after each item I added, totaling in 10+ screens in under few minutes. This is ridiculous! I'm not a child, I do not need these motivational screens, they in fact demotivate me and make me want to unsubscribe and uninstall the app.
3
Please, make them optional. -
25 Oct, '24
JanneAlso, just adding a note, that looking at the top 50 feature requests here, this one has the by far highest "votes per day" count, with 10 votes per day. The distant second is "Add more meal categories or groups of meals" with 1.06 votes per day and the third one "Edit/toggle streak feature" with 1.04 votes per day (which co-incidently is also dealing with irritating streak handling). Maybe this should suggest you that something needs to be fixed.

JanI've been paying for around 6 years now and witnessed a lot of change in the app. It just got more and more complicated to achieve a seemingly simple task. I also witnessed that they don't give a sh** about our feedback here.
4
The latest addition of these nasty popups, right after kicking a lot of fellas with different eating disorders and issues (which is why many use this app after all) in the balls with the streaks feature, was the final tip that made me cancel my subscription. I just can't stand it anymore. -
13 Nov, '24
MarioI have been using Yazio for a couple of years now, started paying one year ago. But with all the popups in the screen I am considering to search for a different app. I already canceled my subscription. I'll just wait till the last week of this year and will then quit Yazio and look for a different one.

MayaraThese new screens for "Here's your summary" and "Log info" are a complete waste of time. Instead of 1 click, now we need to go through 3 screens. I use the app both to plan and to track my meals, so I make a large amount of inputs, tweaking and changing until I have the right amount of macros, and also after I get the actual meal done. So this new feature is plain terrible for people who use the app in this way. I get that it could be useful for beginners, but the actual info you get from these screens is completely worthless for seasoned trackers. I already know whats healthy or not.
3
On the second screen, why do I need to know how many seconds it took me to create the input?? It seems like that's not useful to the user at all. Plus, if anything, these additional screens are only ADDING time to the whole thing, so what's the point..?! I don't mind these screens existing, as long as they are not MANDATORY for everyone else. -
20 Nov, '24
PiaPlease, take those nasty popups and nonsense away! I have to quit If you don’t Do this immediatly.

SharonI have used yazio pro for years. I absolutely hate the childish shaming that now comes with the pop-ups every time you enter your food. A simple chicken breast is high in calories, Don't tell me that!!! I can see the macros if I want to without the guilt. Besides it is such a waste of time when you just want to get on with the day. The app is beginning to look like a gaming app, and I have none of those on my phone.
7
GET RID OF THE SILLY EXTRA POP-UPS or allow us to turn them off!
I am seriously considering cancelling my subscription. -
25 Nov, '24
VilkaIts annoying - I am a pro user but I will stop now using Yazio depending on these lot of pop ups like streaks (I hate this more from day to day). I want just to add my meals and thats it. It takes too long time to click, click, click… boring time. Other users maybe find this good - but why we do not have the ability to set it on or off? Yazio is doing the decision for us - and now Yazio has one paying member less…

LauraAll these annoying new gamification features are an absolute pain! They waste time clicking them away, look childish, and add no value. The stupid yearly countdown is always in the way when scrolling. The streak feature is irritating. It's just awful, especially as a paying Pro user - I feel completely ripped off. Why didn’t they just leave the app as it was?

CalisThese popups after i enter a meal are absolute pain. Instead of one click i need to click trough maybe three screens. Iam a PRO user and I paid to get rid of adds. Now i have more. Nice business model. If this will not disappear or you will not add option to disable it iam out. Plenty of replacement out there.

DanielleI have been a paid member for years. I am satisfied but also have a complaint.
1
Complaint 1:
I do not want to keep a series every day. Can I turn this off somewhere? I find this so annoying and unnecessary.
Complaint 2:
if I have not logged in for a few days, I have to reset all my goals. While I am simply a member. I find it annoying and would like this to be fixed. -

NikMan, this is driving me nuts. I so regret buying this app now. Get rid of it already. Going to use a different app until then.

MartinSituation to date: not only are the notifications still in place, as of the recent update they linger even longer. As a paying customer I find it unacceptable that all the requests for removal or making the notifications optional go unanswered.

BernhardFirst off, I really like your app and I‘m using it very passionately, because it helps me in my weight loss journey very much. I understand that you have to show commercials to non pro subscribed users, but all the other in-app popups are just so annoying. Often I just want to quickly add a little something to a meal i’ve forgotten to track, but the thing that I everytime have to click and watch throught that phlethora of unnecessary long animated popups and reminders, which I seemingly purposefully can’t close immediately is just the most annoying thing. I‘m now using the app like everytime I track something, I immediately force close the app in iOS, because restarting it is much faster than watching everthing you want to force show me afterwards. Please consider to add an option to deactivate everything hindering a smart and quick usage of the app. Usability is key, i would totally consider to subscribe to pro, just to be able to skip everthing unnecessary fast.

MichalPlease stop those endlessly annoying and delaying banners at every entry. I open the application many times a day and every time I write I have to look at the banner which I don't read, I just have to click on it.
