Don't change past entries if I change a recipe

I think changing something in a recipe should not automatically change all the past diary entries I have made with that recipe. If I end up using bigger potatoes in a meal and have to adjust the recipe, I don't want all the past times I've used the recipe to change as well. Same if I swap an ingredient for something else, add something that I didn't have last time etc.
I don't want to create a different recipe for all of these minor changes but I also don't want my records to become wrong because the recipe wasn't the same 2 weeks ago.
