Kayla V MergedRight now when you click on a summary of your nutrition for the day it shows salt, but not sodium. Generally most products don’t have a “salt” amount on the label, just a sodium amount. It would be helpful if the daily summary included sodium as it is a major dietary concern for many people. The image shows what the current summary looks like.

Herman Learmond-CriquiAlso track the sodium from bar-code read products as well as too much sodium can lead to water retention (water follows sodium in the body) which prevents fast weight loss. If you lose weight but retain water or just retain more water due to high salt intake, your weight loss goals can be in vain. A good daily range is 1500g per day as part of a good weight management strategy for heart failure patients. This is actually stopping me from using Yazio as much as I would like to.

JacqueI personally think it should be tracked in mg, not g. The recommended is 1500mg, not g per day.

FRANCOIS BARBREAUHello
However I can't find the SODIUM line. There is only the salt line and who it is in grams. Do we have to convert sodium into salt every time it occurs? Why is the salt line in grams?
I return to my example with San Pellegrino water. It contains 33 mg/L sodium. (manufacturer data)
33 mg/L = 0.033 g/L
If sodium must be converted into salt, it is necessary to do: 0.033 g/L * 2.5 = 0.0825 g/L
To modify the sheet I have no other option than 100 ml, so I must divide 0.0825/10 = 0.00825g/100ml
When I do this the sheet indicates 0.1 g of salt and 3120 mg of sodium. Why this amount of sodium? -

ShelleyI can enter salt in g but no sodium option. Once a food is logged though there is a salt AND sodium line but you can’t edit sodium. A lot of foods are showing ridiculously high sodium like 36000 per meal! Having kidney disease means accurate sodium tracking is crucial.
